Call Upon God In Truth

The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.

Psalms 145:18 (KJV)

I love my prayer time with my Father - God. Sometimes I just sit and talk to him and other times I wait to hear from him. I am so thankful that he is always ready to listen attentively to his children. I have a close relationship with God and can be truthful about whatever I am going through. God is close to those who call on his name but he doesn't want a fake version of ourselves.

How many times have you been asked, how are you doing? Too many to count, but the real question is, what is your response? We always seem to say fine, doing well, and sometimes we just respond with ok. Then we go about our day as if everything is great in our lives even when it isn't. We go around with a fake smile while wearing this mask that appears all is well. Meanwhile on the inside everything feels like chaotic.

Telling God anything and everything in honesty is what he longs to hear. When we are angry and feel like life is unfair telling God is the way to get it off our chest. He is the one who listens attentively to whatever we may be going through. I have literally screamed and yelled at him saying this is unfair. God never once turned away from me or said I will talk to you when you calm down. He always make a way for everything to work out for our good.

I also remember the times when I couldn't stop crying for days because my heart was shattered into a million little pieces. I longed for certain people to be with me so I could be held physically. I recently had a friend who went through this and longed for me to be with her to hold her. It is not easy to handle death on our own but God makes it possible. I cried out to him and told him I wanted a certain person to hold me and it never happened. I shared my story with my friend telling her I understood how she felt. During this time I told God I felt abandoned and desperately needed someone but he had something else in mind. By telling God I needed to be held, meditating on his word, and repeating the words I need you something spectacular happened. I was sitting in a chair but I felt God cradle and rock me back and forth as if I were a little baby. '

One of my neighbors has a daughter who is going through a spiritual battle and this is very sad to watch and also scary because we don't want her to hurt anyone including herself. She seems to have multiple personalities and I am no psychologist. Even though she was making threats I have spent several days with her mother trying to get her daughter the help that she needs. Nothing at least not in the physical realm because she is unwilling to get help. I have done all I can do and had to intercede for her in prayer and let God handle the situation at hand. Sometimes we need to give it to God because he is the only one who controls everything that is out of our control.

The list goes on and on. The point I want to make is this. Whatever we are going through even when no one else is around to listen God hears us. We don't need any mask or act like everything is ok. We can be honest with him about everything we are going through and how we feel about it. This pleases God to hear our truth in every situation.

If you are going through something today I want you to know that God is near to those who call upon him in truth. As a matter of fact God is all around you and knows exactly what you are going through and how you feel. God is loving you through each and every moment giving you peace, comfort, and meeting all your needs. He is your refuge in times of trouble and protects you. God is your healer physically, mentally, and spiritually.
