A Messenger of Encouragement

Deborah, a prophetess, was judging Israel at the time. One day she sent for Barak and said to him, this is what the Lord commands. Call out 10,000 warriors at Mount Tabor to defeat Sisera. (Judges 4: 4,6)

When Deborah confirms what Barak needed to do, she also encouraged him, reassuring him since God always goes before us that He would give the victory over to him. Barak replied, "I will go, but only if you will go with me."

I believe deep down we all know what the Lord wants us to do for Him. Yet, we hesitate in moving forward because we seek the confirmation. When we ask for this it doesn't always come directly from God. Sometimes it will be confirmed through a messenger of God, a mentor, friend, pastor, or whomever else God chooses.

There will be times we don't even need to ask for someone to go with us. God has already laid it on their heart to do so. (He always knows what we need!) These will be people who know Christ personally and will be there to encourage us. As they walk with us it will give us the confidence to pursue what we are called to do and continue to march forth until we accomplish the task at hand.

As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend. Proverbs 27:17

We all should take the time to encourage one another. There will be times we need to challenge others and hold them accountable to meet their goals. Who doesn't like a good challenge? We can all learn something from each other. This will more than likely include a little bit of tough love if we need to be corrected or we need a push in the right direction. This will help us to become better versions of ourselves.

"Act as if what you do makes a difference. It Does." - William James

Why are we are so hesitant? God is good to us and I know it’s us we doubt. I really want to rely on Him fully in all my ways!

Replying to

I think we hesitate because it is scary to step out into the unknown. Me personally I like my comfort zone and I get anxious when trying something new. Learning what God does for us when we step out in faith should make us want to jump right in. We are a work in progress and get better each time. Right?
